For the fourth year, MetLife is offering college students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience through a paid internship. The MetLife and New England Financial 2009 Financial Fellowship Program will provide a unique experience for students who have a strong desire to learn more about the financial services industry and ultimately transition into a successful career—with guidance from MetLife or New England Financial professionals.
“The need for trusted advice has never been greater, and this internship offers a tremendous opportunity for students to learn how they can touch the lives of families that, now more than ever, need financial protection and security,” says Michael J. Vietri, CLU®, executive vice president, Individual Distribution, MetLife. “MetLife’s products and services have been helping families achieve peace of mind for 140 years, and we are looking for students with diverse backgrounds who want to learn how they can become financial services representatives and help us continue this tradition.”
The paid summer internship is open to 160 students at a participating MetLife or New England Financial agency of their choice. Interns receive training and mentorship, and an opportunity to work side-by-side with experienced, successful financial services professionals to better understand the financial industry and career opportunities. In addition, interns travel to The American College, the nation’s leading educator of professionals in the insurance and financial services industry, to study with faculty as part of an intensive one-week advanced, educational experience.
