Ungrateful Valentine's, why?

Angelica 'Jelli' Jones · Tuesday, February 15th 2005 at 6:56PM · 319 views
I don't know if it's just me and Hampton's campus, but has anyone else heard girls complain about their Valentine's Day gifts? Why? I'm not really big on V-day to begin with, but when I got a phone call from my boo, that alone felt special. Today at work, this girl was telling us what she got for V-day...roses, candy, and a big red teddy bear. I thought it was so sweet. But her response was, "I DO NOT do red like that." The hell?????? I wanted to say something but it wasn't the time or place for it...plus, I didn't really know her like that. But still. I am a firm believer in, "it's the thought that counts." Old fashioned, sure. But it has taught me to be thankful for the little things, and not to mention saved myself from one helluva lot of arguments....So all I'm saying to the ladies AND gentlemen...just be thankful for what you have and breathe...it may not be there tomorrow. Luv.

Thank you for being frank. That is sad! Black people need to simmer down and stay humble and be about something great.

Good question. I find it stupid that some women complain about getting something when they could've gotten nothing. My homegirl didn't have a Valentine...and I felt bad for her (cuz we go way back) and told her I'd be her Valentine. She said ok, but I haven't heard from her since...ungrateful. Anywho, there will always be ungrateful people in this world...
