
Bowling Green State University is looking for an Assistant Professor-Reading Education
Job Description:
1. Teach undergraduate and graduate reading courses with a primary focus on reading in Middle Childhood Education (grades 4 through 9).
2. Engage in scholarly activities including research, publishing, professional presentations, scholarship of engagement, and grant writing.
3. Provide instruction and supervision for middle childhood field-based courses.
4. Participate in undergraduate student advising and program development.
Position begins August, 2009. Review of Candidates begins December 5, 2008; Applications accepted until the position is filled.
Qualifications:
1. Earned doctorate (by August 2009) in reading/literacy (with specialization in middle childhood reading preferred) required for appointment at Assistant Professor level. ABD (dissertations defended August 2009) will be considered.
2. A minimum of three years teaching experience in grades K-12. (4-9 preferred.)
3. Demonstrated potential or performance in research, publications, and grants, as well as evidence of professional presentations.
