The State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation (CTDOT), is seeking qualified applicants for our Transportation Maintainer 2 (DOT Highway Electrical Technician) position in the Milford Electrical Facility. This role has an advancement opportunity for the target class of Qualified Craft Worker (Electrical) in the District 2 Milford Electrical Facility.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Monday - Friday
Full time, 40 hours per week
First shift, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
THE ROLE
The purpose of this position is to perform electrical repairs, installation, and maintenance of the Department's traffic lights and highway illumination within District 2. Upon successful completion of a 2 year training period, the incumbent in this role will be evaluated and may be promoted to the target class of Qualified Craft Worker (Electrical).
Qualifications & Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of experience in the construction, landscaping, commercial driving, snow plowing, maintenance and repair of roadsides, roadways, bridges or airports, in work involving the operation and care of mechanical equipment or work in one of the recognized maintenance trades.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
Graduation from a vocational or technical school with a diploma designating completion of the subject requirements in one of the maintenance trades may be substituted for the General Experience.
Successful completion of the Transportation Maintenance Registered Apprenticeship Program approved by the Department of Administrative Services may be substituted for the General Experience.
