If this describes you, then the Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center, North Campus is looking for you to be a part of our team!

The State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking qualified individuals for a Psychologist (Clinical) position. This is a part-time, 34 hour per week position (4 days, 8:30am - 4:00pm; 1 day, 8:30am-3:00pm), located at Solnit North, 36 Gardener St, East Windsor CT.

Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center–North Campus is a state-administered Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) for adolescent boys between the ages of 13-18. The Solnit Center provides comprehensive care to adolescents with complex psychiatric profiles who cannot be safely assessed or treated in a less restrictive setting.

We are widely recognized as a center of excellence for family-centered treatment of youth with complex psychiatric profiles. At the Solnit Center, we treat our youth and each other with dignity and respect. It is in this relational, cultural and gender-sensitive surrounding that our therapeutic milieu is based. Interdisciplinary teams develop, implement, and continually assess individualized treatment plans.

The Ideal candidate will be able to conduct multiple assessments and produce multiple reports in a 34-hour work week.

Qualifications & Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have graduated from an educational program approved by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists with consent of the Commissioner of Public Health. Generally, this will be interpreted as possession of a doctorate degree in psychology from a college or university program which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or as otherwise determined by the Board and the Commissioner. Applicants possessing degrees from other than APA accredited programs must first gain acceptance from the Department of Public Health.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

A doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology as indicated above and completion of a one (1) year clinical internship.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with adolescent males in a psychiatric residential treatment facility.
Experience communicating in writing and verbally to diverse populations and skill levels.
Experience with supervising graduate level psychology students.
Experienced and proficient in conducting comprehensive Misuse Fire Risk Evaluation, Problematic Sexual Behavior, and/or Violence risk psychological evaluations.
