Director Of Nursing (Remote-New York)
Maximus is currently hiring for a Director of Nursing! This position reports to the Senior Director - Clinical Assessment and will provide operational support for our New York Independent Assessor (NYIA) Program.
About the New York Independent Assessor Program (NYIA):
The NYIA Program serves the State of New York by conducting a UAS assessment to determine eligibility for community-based long-term services. The Quality Assurance Specialist will bring robust qualifications and a strong desire to contribute their knowledge and expertise to a meaningful program. Specialists are on the front line of ensuring consistent and accurate assessment results by reviewing assessments and communicating with Nurse Assessors.
This position is fully remote and located in the state of New York. Local travel within the state of New York may be required for business and training purposes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops project plans and provides direction and guidance to project staff, individually and in teams, to achieve quality assurance goals
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of IA Regional Nurse Managers and QA staff to ensure compliance to contract requirements and operational goals, overseeing all work processes, making revisions, and developing protocols, as necessary
Collaborates with the Senior Director - Clinical Assessment and Business Operations in designing, developing and implementing a comprehensive Quality Assurance Policy and Plan that effectively monitors and measures the NYS Uniform Assessment System (UAS) and the pre-evaluation processing in MAXeb
Represents IA and performs public speaking, as needed
Always promotes MAXIMUS in a positive and professional manner
Participates in regular client meetings
Develops trust, credibility and strong client relations
Supports a diverse workforce and identifies and develops successors for direct reports
Works with the Senior Director - Clinical Assessment and Business Operations to develop and maintain project budgets and forecasts
Works alongside the medical director consultant to achieve dispute resolution
Oversees matters related to the Fair Hearing process, taking a leadership and hands-on role as needed
Meets all standards established for this position as outlined in the corresponding annual performance criteria and bonus template for this position
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Sr. Director - Clinical Assessment and Business Operations
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
Active RN License in the state of New York
5+ years management experience as an administrative nurse director or a nurse director in a hospital or clinic
Health plan management experience
2+ years RN experience in medical / surgical / geriatric / LTC / ambulatory care
Proven leadership ability
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
Working knowledge of commonly used technological systems (email, word processing, etc.).
