At Empower, the Financial Reporting analysts will work with departments and teams throughout the organization to execute activities related to financial analysis and preparation of reports on financial results. The Financial Reporting team prepares information under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP). Financial Reporting team members should demonstrate a strong desire to understand the business and take pride in producing accurate financial statements with thorough analyses of results while maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement. What you will do: - Preparation and analysis of:
- Audited IFRS financial statements and results for inclusion in the public filings of Great-West Lifeco (Empower’s parent company)
- Audited US GAAP financial statements and results for certain subsidiaries of Empower
- Audited Statutory financial statements and results for the life insurance companies of Empower.
- Acts as a liaison to other areas of the business on financial reporting questions and issues
- Performs SOX compliance activities and mitigates or remediates compliance issues identified through internal and external audit processes
- Supports internal and external audit processes as needed
- Stays abreast of all financial reporting and compliance regulatory changes that may impact the business, and helps implement regulatory changes to reporting processes
- Collaborates with other teams and team-members for process improvement, automation, and other high-priority finance initiatives
What you will bring: - Ability to independently analyze data, problem solve solutions, and present options
- Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail required
- Ability to work independently with all levels of management and be flexible with ad hoc tasks as required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
What will set you apart: - 2+ years of relevant work experience
- CPA and public accounting with audit experience
- Advanced Excel skillset
- Experience with analytical software

The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
