The Senior Analyst I - Contracts role is an integral part of the Sales Operations team and is responsible for supporting our sales team for all types of transactions related but not limited to: Advanced Staining, Core Histology, and Pathology Imaging at Leica Biosystems. This role is based in our Deer Park, IL office. In this role, the Senior Analyst I - Contracts will be expected to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, customer service, service and product management , IT, sales, marketing) and balance internal/external business operation demands.

The contracts departments is responsible for but not limited to the creation of agreements, reviewing proposed modifications to contracts, quotes, and terms and conditions, including coordinating internal flow of information to assemble contract language and financial inputs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Creation of supply, capital, acquisition and rental agreements and amendments

  • Understand the mechanics and financial modelling for agreements

  • Ability to draft and modify contract language with little to no supervision

  • Review and modify master terms and non-standard contracts

  • Review, and modify business and service terms and conditions for any type of document

  • Structure deals onto non-standard paperwork

  • Primary analyst for high complexity requests

  • Facilitate conference calls with external sources related to contract reviews

  • Train new employees on department processes and low/high complexity requests

  • Other projects and duties as assigned


  • Excellent time management and organization skills are a must

  • Must possess excellent customer relations/service skills

  • Self-motivated and independent critical thinking

  • Goal oriented and results driven

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are key

  • Work independently but able to interact as part of a team member

  • High degree of proficiency in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP) and Adobe Acrobat

  • High proficiency with business terms and conditions review

  • High proficiency in contract creation, review, and modification


  • Expresses concern that things be done right, thoroughly, or precisely

  • Completes all work according to procedures and standards.

  • Reviews the work of peers has thorough understanding of common errors and nuances and therefore identifies defects faster

  • Collaborates with the process stakeholders beyond the immediate team to improve the product. Acts as an enabler for the benefit of teamwork

  • Defines and commits to team norms as per organizational citizenship behavior in order to encourage high level of teamwork in self and others

  • Participates in the process of continuous improvement and provides innovative ideas in brainstorming sessions

  • Interpret customer requirements accurately and present the processes of the organization to meet customer satisfaction

  • Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements

  • Requires conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines

  • Demonstrates knowledge of best practices and awareness of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Solves complex problems, leveraging PSP methodology, with some coaching; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on limited set of data


  • BA or BS Degree with 3+ years of related experience OR equivalent work experience a minimum 5 years
