We have a career opportunity open for an experienced leader as a Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor. This role will work in our fast-paced industrial environment, managing a team of four technicians. This team confirms the quality of inbound raw materials used in our chemical manufacturing processes as well as the verification of all finished products. The team is ensuring the material/product meets specification and is compliant with regulatory requirements and the work includes using critical thinking skills to make an analysis and document findings with a focus on safety and data integrity. The QC team works cross-functionally with operations and the QA team as well as with customers regarding any product issues.

The Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor provides general direction to plan, organize, and supervise technical and administrative functions within the Quality Control Department.
Manages the Quality Control department daily work activities and serves as resource for technical / administrative problems.
Trains, motivates, leads, develops and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
Ensures Quality Control systems are compliant with corporate and site procedures, as well as industry standards.
Supports development of novel QC analytical methods. Works in conjunction with other departments to develop, qualify, and transfer QC analytical methods as applicable.
Drafts, reviews, and approves Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), sampling plans, protocols and reports related to product/processes, equipment, method, validation. This includes deviation investigation and reporting.
Lead investigations for nonconforming materials; perform troubleshooting, process development or improvement activities.
Identifies and implements improvement opportunities for established Quality Systems, processes, procedures, and training to support CAPA, Change Control, Deviation, Risk Management, and Investigation processes.
Evaluate, analyze, and report on product quality issues from customer accounts and sales force.
Function as quality support to sales, technical service, and raw material suppliers. Resolve quality issues and discrepancies with vendors and suppliers.
Ensures compliance with safety procedures and regulations. .
Provide statistical process control for the quality control department.
Consult with production management to continually improve the quality processes, targeting areas of raw materials manufacturing, rework of nonconforming material, waste, and product returns.
Bachelor of Science Degree in a physical science discipline. Some college-level training in chemistry is required.
Must have some prior experience managing others in a work setting, providing coaching and leadership.
Experience with laboratory techniques and equipment including method validation / qualification and qualification of equipment / systems.
Experience in a QC support in manufacturing setting
Ability to work effectively under time constraints
