Hello, my name is (Royal Apostle) Brad.
I created the very first Kid President video in July of 2012 out of the simple belief that kids have voices worth listening to.
For years, my family and I have been working to create things in an effort to help shape the way kids see the world and the way the world sees kids. This was just a continuation of that work.
It began as just a few videos we made for fun. My younger brother-in-law Robby (who plays the character of Kid President in the videos) is one of my favorite people to spend time with. He and I love making things together and never dreamed our journey would take us the places it has (the White House, the UN, meeting Beyoncé, etc). Who knew a little can and string could connect you to everyone from bestselling authors to incredible teachers to world renowned actors and actresses to awesome kids or even to the President of the United States?
The idea for Kid President came a few years ago. My wife and I had just launched a summer camp for kids who want to change the world. We were blown away by the ideas and the hearts of the students there. These students wanted nothing more than to leave the world better than they found it. After seeing their creativity and compassion I couldn't help but think - wouldn't it be cool if we listened to kids more? When we got home we filmed the very first Kid President video.
I believe kids can change the world. I also believe grown ups can change the world. It just takes all of us working together.
Never did we imagine that this desire to help children would lead us on such a great adventure. Every day we receive messages about young people who are "treating everybody like it’s their birthday" and "giving the world a reason to dance.” It’s incredible. We’ve been able to hear from and learn from inspiring children all over the world. My hope is to continue to listen to and help young people as much as I possibly can.
I live and work in Tennessee. There’s no fancy film crew or staff. It's just our family having fun and hoping we create something that makes people happier than they were before they clicked play. Our hope is that each episode is received with the same love that started this whole adventure. Kid President won’t always be a kid and he won’t always be a president, but we’ll always be a family working to make things that hopefully inspire and encourage. Thanks for being on this journey with us.
As Kid President says, "Love changes everything. So fill the world with it."
keep dancing,
