FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!
U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders will be joining the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for a conversation on the future of American democracy on Friday, March 31. Last week, Edward M. Kennedy Institute President Dr. Jean F. MacCormack invited Institute supporters to submit questions for Senator Sanders and hundreds of you sent them in.
Johanna in Pennsylvania asked: “With poor voter turnout and more, would you support a national day of voting in the primaries for federal elections, mail in voting like Washington state and the Netherlands, or a task force to improve, educate, and promote participation in elections to ensure free and fair elections?”
And Barbara in New Hampshire wrote: “I recently read in The New Yorker magazine that sending email or even making phone calls to U.S. legislators does no good at all. How can the average hard working American actually make a difference and have a say in our democracy? What means do we citizens have to impact decision makers? Thank you!”
We want to make sure you have a chance to submit your question in advance of Senator Sanders’ visit to the Institute next week.
