Fisk Trustees Establish Global Studies Fund (1351 hits)

Fisk University trustees recently established a Global Studies Fund to enable Fisk students to attend The London School of Economics and Political Science. This Study Abroad project was conceived by Trustee Hassell McClellan with the support of Trustees Frank Sims and Michael Hampton. As a result, six Fisk students are studying in London or Beijing this summer.

Kiana McClintick, Elijah Porter, and Rahmi Pruitt are in London at The London School of Economics and Political Science. Pruitt is studying macroeconomics while McClintick and Porter are pursuing studies in the theory, law, and practice of international human rights.

Brianna Herman, Arielle James, and Jianne McDonald are traveling to Beijing, China to participate in The London School of Economics and Political Science-Peking University program. There they will engage in an in-depth examination of important issues facing China (and the world) today, across a range of subjects including law, finance, economics, management, geography and politics.

President H. James Williams remarked, “The establishment of this fund by these trustees is another demonstration of the extensive support that they and our entire Board of Trustees are providing Fisk and the talented students whom we serve. We want every Fisk student to participate in a Study Abroad experience; this initiative helps to make this a reality. And, we achieve our goal of producing scholars and leaders prepared to contribute immeasurably to our global society.”
